I was just finishing writing Wildly Sophisticated when my agent called and said we needed to pitch another book concept right away. At that point, a book was the last thing I wanted to work on. Writing was way harder than I expected and the thought of pulling another 70,000 words from my thoroughly exhausted brain was beyond me. My agent came back to me a few weeks later after talking to the publisher and said, “They’re interested in a book on money.” Now this was kinda funny, because I’m a spender, not a saver. I took the weekend to think about it. I came back with an outline of what I would be willing to write about and this is what the book became:
